Induction
Students that have been accepted onto a Consortium course MUST attend an induction session at their host centre. This is when you will be officially enrolled onto your Consortium course. Induction sessions will be held at each centre on the same date: Friday 10th Sept 2010 at 9am. You should NOT attend the induction session if you have NOT yet been accepted on to a Consortium course.

What happens at the induction session?
At the induction session you should:
- Arrive promptly at the main reception of the appropriate site/building and say you have come for the 6f induction, giving the relevant contact name from the table below

- Get your name signed off on the induction session register
|
- Be enrolled onto the host centre's system and be given your ID card/pass if applicable
|
- Be given a map/plan of the school/college; including how to get from one site to another if there are more than one
|
- Be given your timetable of Consortium lessons and timings of host school day, plus term dates
|
- Meet the host centre's Head of 6th Form and find out where their office is
|
- Find out your subject teacher's name and classroom location
|
- Know exactly when and where your first lesson is!
|
- Be shown where and how to sign in and how the attendance monitoring procedure works
|
- Find out what will happen if you arrive late to a lesson
|
- Find out how you will be informed of cancelled lessons, room changes etc.
|
- Have a tour of the library, computer rooms, common room etc.
|
- Find out where the fire exits and toilets are
|
- Find out about the library system works (there may be forms to complete and a deposit to pay)
|
- Find out about IT access (there may be forms to complete and a deposit to pay)
|
- Find out about exam procedures and where exam information is posted
|
- Find out how the progress monitoring and reporting procedure works
|
- Find out how the Cause for Concern procedure works
|
- Be told about any fees you might have to pay e.g. for re-sits or deposits for books at some centres
|
- Find out about rules at the host centre which may be different from your home centre, and sign a student contract if applicable
|
- Meet other Consortium students
